About Modern Steam Automobile Mileage

     Any properly designed and built modern steam engine automobile must be and can be capable of realizing more than two times as many miles per gallon mileage as a modern gasoline internal combustion engine powered automobile does, and should be able to get three times plus as many miles per gallon.

Any modern steam automobile that does not get more than twice the mileage of an IC gasoline engine car has two or three serious problems:

     1. The designers/builders were not paying good attention;

     2. The designers/builders did not do their homework;

     3. The designers/builders do not want high mileage vehicles.

Everyone who turns a light switch ‘on’ is proving and demonstrating that what was just stated is true and can be done. The light switch proves and demonstrates that this kind of high efficiency steam technology is being done right now in the real world! (Most of our electricity comes from modern steam power plants. In Europe and Asia these steam power plants were approaching 50% thermal efficiency years ago. Internal combustion gasoline engine thermal efficiency is at 20%. The steam power plant is two and a half times as efficient as the gasoline engine. Fact!) This same high efficiency steam technology can be put to work under the hood of an automobile resulting in very high mileage vehicles if one chooses to do so. To believe otherwise simply is not rational. Modern steam automobiles can also burn cleaner than IC engines, and can use alternative fuels.

     These issues are so clear, simple, and obvious that it is a complete mystery to me that anyone could miss them or attempt to argue against them. We must not be afraid to set our sights high.
